Current sophomores and junior girls can sign up for next year’s Turkey Bowl during lunch beginning this Friday through Friday May 23rd. Registration forms will only be accepted  signed by a parent and returned with the fee of $40.

All science olympiad team members and alternates are to meet Mrs. Elmore today after school in the cafeteria for a 5 minute meeting.

Any student interested in Operation Lightening Bolt is invited to attend the Scottsburg Recruit Sustainment Program this Saturday May 17^th from 11:30-10PM that night. A complete day of fun and military training including paintball course, night vision course using military vision goggles, pugil sticks, weapons training, marksmanship course, HUMMV rides and more.  See the posting in A-Hall window or outside Mr. Hamsley door to make reservations.

Theatre members – any initiated Thespian or those who will be initiated at Saturday’s banquet and interested in running for an officer position should stop by and see Mr. Bundy today. Voting takes place this Friday.

This is just a reminder to all students that student renaissance forms are due to Mrs. Cambron in B-33 tomorrow.

The last driving skills test to get your license will be Saturday May 24^th between 9 & 11am. Sign up at the bookstore or see Mr. Hay if you have any questions.

Driver’s ed information sheets for SUMMER SCHOOL are at the bookstore. Students must be 15 by July 1^st.  The application must be turned in WITH A DEPOSIT.  Deadline is May 23^rd. 

Due to construction schedules the main entrance to the school will be closed to student and staff access after school for the remainder of the year.  Driver’s ed. TEAM and other student events after school will need to be scheduled in the media center. Please plan to use the old junior high entrance or the rear canopy entrance after hours. Students are encouraged to leave the main commons area of the building by 3pm each day for the rest of the year.

Senior week starts TODAY during YOUR LUNCH TIME ONLY in the West Wing of the building.

All you guys planning on attending Ball State in the fall, the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta is offering three $1000 scholarships.  You do not have to join the fraternity to be awarded the scholarship.  Applications are on the scholarship board.  Deadline is August 16^th.

Please check your lunch account if you believe you will be due a refund the last day of school - see Ms. Kramer or Ms. Keithley in the cafeteria to make arrangements to clear your account.  Seniors who owe money need to take care of that debt before graduation.

New Albany’s agricultural and business departments are holding their spring plant sale now through May 15^th daily from 2:45pm to 4:45pm Monday –Friday and Saturdays 10am-2pm.  Choose from a large variety of bedding flowers and vegetable plants.  

Any student who has or will have a new address after June 3rd needs to see Mrs. Lockhart for the address change as soon as possible.  School mail is not forwarded.  In order to receive your report card and school registration information for next year – your address must be correct.

HH Gregg is offering a $500 scholarship to 40 Indiana seniors with a 3.0 GPA and a parent/guardian who serves as a firefighter, police officer, or paramedic.  Applications are available at hhgregg.com.  Deadline is June 2^nd.

Summer school PE signups are closed except to those who failed and need makeup.  See Mr. Jensen.

Summer is getting here and already we need to remind students of the dress code – short shorts and short skirts, spaghetti straps, too many holes in jeans. sagging pants.  Please avoid being sent to the office to call home by dressing appropriately each day.

Any senior girl who will be 18 by June 1^st is eligible to enter the Miss Madison Regatta Scholarship Pageant sponsored by Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.  The pageant begins June 30^th. See the posting in the A Hall window for more details.

Students are not to allowed to bring a visitor/guest to school without first getting approval from the principal’s office in advance.

Don’t forget your senior tee shirt if you have not already picked it up at lunch.  You can pay when you pick up your shirt.

Apply at Holiday Inn Lakeview as a lifeguard or available jobs. Applications can be filled out there and you will be called for an interview.

Once again from the office – students are NOT to exit FC from the doors of the auxiliary gym.  They are for emergencies only.  Please exit through the doors by the athletic office.

LOCKER CARDS – have you turned yours in?  If you haven’t, please do so today.  You will be assigned a locker partner if you do not choose one.  Return your card stapled with your locker partner’s card to the Bookstore.

Abbott & Fenner Scholarships are available to all juniors and seniors in the amount of $1000.  You must write an essay on a given topic.  For more information, see the scholarship board.  Deadline is June 20, 2008.

Murray State University announces Commonwealth Honors Academy for juniors.  This will be held over the summer and students could earn 6 hours of college credit and be awarded a four –year scholarship to Murray State.  Information on scholarship board.
